Last chapter! A/N at the end.

( It is a little past midnight, and a single figure sits amongst the stars. )

May I just say how much I loved writing the middle scene of this chapter.

( The first droplets were just beginning to fall as Justice stared, wide-eyed, at the figure. )

When I think about it, I actually know more German than I realise. Sure, they're only words picked up from songs and writing here and there, but it's surprising how much such things can teach you. Of course, everything sounds cooler when you put it into German... It's one of those really beautiful-sounding languages.

( “M-my father…” )

Here we get some Kircheis back story. It's another one of those cases when I write it based on vague details, then read Asagi's version and realise I've got most of it wrong. XD But I have to keep telling myself that this is only an adaptation, so it's not going to follow the original exactly.

Still, it bothers me. Enjoy the chapter!

I always enjoy writing chapters centered around the environment and world-building. I hope to share some other sides of Marthiel in the second book.

The section at the beginning of this chapter is set about 900 years before the main storyline, around the year 630 of the First Era. Maybe I'll write up the chronology one day... Basically, the First Era began when the first Schwarzschild king arrived in Marthiel and developed it into a serious country on the map, and the Second Era started when ( Read more... )
